With the college’s support, the Communications Technology program has transformed the TV Studio into a state-of-the-art production facility, expanding its role as a resource for media production across campus. This hands-on learning environment has helped students develop essential media skills, with many alumni advancing to successful careers in the industry. To celebrate this progress and share future plans, we invite you to The York College TV Studio: The Next Chapter on March 20.
A highlight of the event will be the return of Daniel Phelps, a visiting former faculty member who played a key role in student success and media initiatives at York. Now a full-time instructor at Georgia Institute of Technology and completing his Ph.D., Daniel will share insights from his current work. Alumni will also return to reflect on their career journeys and contribute to a discussion about the evolving Communications Technology major.
The event will take place in two parts:
Afternoon Session (12–2 PM): A talk by Daniel and discussions on the studio’s expanded role in academic initiatives.
Evening Gathering (5–7 PM): A chance to reconnect with Daniel, engage with returning alumni, and discuss the program’s future.
We hope you’ll join us for one or both sessions and be part of this exciting moment for the program and the York College community!
